Antropeo (“we”, “us”) publishes antropeo.com and the Antropeo app. For any privacy question, or to use your rights described below, write to privacy@antropeo.com.
The website: what we collect
We keep this to a minimum.
- Technical data. To deliver pages, our hosting provider processes your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you request, the page that referred you, and timestamps (server logs).
- Messages you send us. If you email us, or use the enquiry form on the Agency page, we receive what you choose to include. The form only opens your own email app; nothing reaches us until you press send there.
- Your cookie choice. Stored in your browser, not sent to us (see Cookies).
You do not need an account to use this website, and we do not ask for one.
The app: what we collect
You can use the Antropeo app as a guest or with an account. This is what the app keeps, why, and for how long.
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| A random guest identifier, created the first time you open the app | To keep your fuel, streak, likes and progress | Until you delete the account in Profile |
| If you create an account: your email address, display name and password. The password is kept only as a one-way hash (argon2id), never in readable form | To sign you in and to keep your progress on any phone | Until you delete your account |
| Language and region | To show the app in your language and to tune the feed | Until you change them or delete the account |
| A profile picture, only if you choose one (a small image) | To show on your profile | Until you change it or delete the account |
| Your activity: cards you view, like, save, hide or share; trivia answers; fuel and streak; Daily Pin Challenge pins and scores; duels, friends and blocks; reports you send | To run the games, to personalise the feed, to keep leaderboards fair and to keep players safe | Until you delete the account (see “What deleting removes”) |
| Technical data: your IP address and request details in our server logs, and sign-in tokens | Security, preventing abuse, limiting request rates and fixing errors | Logs are kept briefly; tokens until you sign out |
The app does not ask for permission to use your location, contacts, microphone or camera. It uses no advertising identifier and no third-party analytics or advertising software, and it does not show ads. We do not send notifications today; if we add them we will ask first.
The app: pictures and videos from other sources
Cards show pictures and sometimes videos from other sources, such as Wikimedia Commons, museums, NASA and news publishers. Our own reels and many pictures load from our own storage (Cloudflare). For some cards your phone loads the picture directly from the source, so that source’s server can see your IP address and device details, as it would if you opened its website. Each card names its source and licence.
How we use information, and why
We use information to deliver and secure the website and the app, to run the games and leaderboards, to personalise your feed from the topics you pick and how you use cards, to answer your messages, and to meet legal obligations. These rest on our legitimate interest in running a safe and reliable service, on the contract between you and us when you use the app, and on our legal obligations. We use analytics or advertising technologies on the website only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Cookies and similar technologies (website)
Until you choose otherwise we use only essential storage that makes the site work. Analytics and advertising are off unless you accept them. At the time of writing we do not run analytics or advertising on this website; the controls are in place for when we do, and we will update this policy before we switch anything on. The full list is on the Cookies page, where you can also change your choice.
Third-party content and links (website)
Headlines, summaries and images in our News section come from third-party news providers and publishers, and each item links to the publisher’s own site. News images load directly from the publisher’s servers, so the publisher can see your IP address; we ask your browser not to send them a referrer. Once you follow a link, the publisher’s own privacy policy applies. Our pages also link to Google Play and to social platforms, which have their own policies. Fonts and article images are served from our own domain, and reels from our own storage, not from third-party font or video services.
Who we share information with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the website and the app: our hosting provider for the app’s servers and databases (Railway) and our content delivery and storage provider (Cloudflare). If we add an email service later we will name it here. Other players see what the game shows them, such as your display name, your pin and your score in a duel or on a leaderboard. We share information with authorities when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Website server logs and app server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and operations. Emails are kept as long as needed to deal with your request and to meet any legal duty. Your cookie choice stays in your browser until you clear it or change it. App data is kept until you delete your account.
Delete your account and your data
In the app, open Profile → Delete account, type DELETE and confirm. Uninstalling the app does not delete what is stored on our servers; deleting the account does. You can also ask us by email. The steps are on the delete your account page.
What deleting removes. Your profile and picture, sign-in details, activity, fuel, streak, scores, friends and blocks, and your saved and liked cards. Reports are kept as safety records with your identity removed. If another player’s duel replays one of your daily runs, that run stays, attached to an anonymous “Deleted player” with no name, email or login.
Security
Connections to the website and the app use HTTPS. Passwords are stored only as one-way hashes. No online service is perfectly secure, so please choose a password you do not use elsewhere.
Children
The Antropeo app and website are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you are under 16, please use the app with a parent’s or guardian’s permission where your local law requires it. If you think a child has an account, write to privacy@antropeo.com and we will delete it.
Where information is processed
Our providers may process information in countries other than yours, including outside the European Economic Area. Where the law requires it, we rely on the safeguards our providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its use, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time (on the website use ). To use these rights, email privacy@antropeo.com. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we will update the date at the top of the page. If a change affects how we use your information, we will make it prominent.
